Noah's Ark Rescue: Angel 2nd Apr 2009, by Noah's Ark CARES
One night along the quiet industrial area, a volunteer caught sight of this extremely thin stray dog with reddish skin whilst she was out on her stray feeding rounds. She fed it some dog canned food but the dog refused to eat nor move. It was obviously in pain and discomfort, constantly shaking its head, possibly from the itch. The gravel she was lying on was definitely not helping her skin condition either. Her entire body was covered with red open sores from scratching them. The volunteer cont...

Could You Please Give Timmy A Warm, Loving Home? 1st Apr 2009, by Noah's Ark CARES
Timmy is another nameless, unwanted stray born in a industrial estate where strays dogs are aplenty. His mother was killed in car accident when he was just 3 months old, leaving Timmy and his sibling behind . By the time he was 4 months, he lost another member of his family to yet another car accident, leaving just him alone in this world.2 months later, Timmy became the victim of a hit and run himself. Apparently, he had been hit in his chest by a moving vehicle. It is a sad common fact that in...

Kori's Adoption 29th Mar 2009, by Noah's Ark CARES
Kori, aka “够力”, earned her chinese name through her never-ending impish antics. Her English name is derived from my first dog Kiro, certainly not in memory of as Kiro is well alive and kicking, but due to the reason that without Kiro, there will certainly be no Kori. Friends have told us that their names are pretty confusing though!I will say fate brought Kori and me together, as I had totally no intention to adopt a second dog as much as I wanted to. I was at Kranji industrial estate on...

Like the saying ‘ like mother, like daughter’, this is so true about Sanuk, the shoe-loving puppy which I adopted from Noah’s Ark. She was found by volunteers at a construction site together with her sister and both were rescued.Sanuk and sister, Kori living in the drain at a construction site.At 5 months old when I took her from her fosterer’s care, she was very timid and would hide behind the sofa or door and responded only to me. She would bolt away from people, cats, children when we...

SMU's 2nd Visit To Noah's Ark - Dec 08 19th Feb 2009, by Noah's Ark CARES
Just recently, PAW organized a trip to Noah's Ark in Johor. For me, it was my first visit there. Having heard so much about it from my friends and aunt, I was really excited about the trip across the causeway and visiting the wonderful animal sanctuary. My aunt had told me about the huge number of animals in the shelter, as well as the fun and joy she had during her visit earlier this year. Being an animal lover, I was looking forward to it. It had rained just before we reached the animal shelte...

My First Fostering Experience 11th Feb 2009, by Noah's Ark CARES
It was past midnight when we picked up Sanuk, the first dog that I ever fostered. When I first saw her, she reminded me of a gangly teenager with her long legs and rather clumsy movements. My dog, Monster, didn’t like Sanuk on sight. I made the mistake of introducing the 2 girls in Monster’s territory instead of bringing her downstairs onto neutral ground for their first meeting. Monster sniffed at Sanuk suspiciously and making up her mind that she didn’t like the newcomer’s presence, she...
