Earlier this week on Monday (22 June 2015), we rescued an injured dog found in the drain outside the Blind Centre. It suffered from a slipped spine. According the vet, the chance of walking is very slim, but miracles do happen. If you are interested to foster or care for this sweet fella, please do approach us at our shelter or at our weekly adoption events!

This Doggie May Find Justice Under Newly Passed Act

Earlier this week, SSPCA lodged a police report on the latest animal abuse case. On June 6, a female stray dog was found at Lorong Setia Raja 4E4 in Taman Casa Marbella here with a triple-pronged hook embedded in her right gum and pierced through her lower jaw.

During this warm months of the year, dogs can overheat and the condition is referred to as heat stroke. Dogs don’t sweat all over their bodies like people do. Their primary way of regulating body temperature is through respiration (panting). This is Crabbie, he was rescued from a drain at Jalan Song housing area on the 7th Jun 2015 afternoon after we received report regarding a injured dog trapped inside a drain and unable to get out. An old couple tried to get him out from the drain which is about 1.5 metres deep but was unsuccessful because he's in pain and they do not know how to get him out from there. Managing a Shelter is a real challenge. We have to feed over 300 animals every day! Can you imagine how fast our food will deplete.We are in dire need of RICE or kibbles.

The lady in the middle, Anna, from the Vocational School Kuching is doing a social enterprise project this weekend at Waterfront Kuching from 9am to 9pm.
