Stray dogs and CNVR
(Dog Population Management)
There is an increasing number of stray-dogs in many urban areas. This may pose a threat to public health and animal welfare. It is evidenced that human acting is the cause of dogs overpopulation. Without food, water and shelter, dog population will die out. Water and shelter are always there, and dogs can survive because people feed them or they may find eatable waste or attack small livestock.

Community Dogs
These dogs are identified by collar-chain. It could be in yellow, green or even red. These dogs are CNVR dogs, Capture-Neuter-Vaccinate-Release.
CNVR dogs are sterilised and vaccinated before they are released back to its place, after we have identified that area has a community feeder.
At times, they may not like their collars, the other identity that can be easily spotted is the ear-clipping for female, and for male, they look like eunuch.
Feed them if you see them.

Many people come upon litters outdoors and ‘assume’ they have been abandoned when in fact the mother dog is nearby, probably hunting. Outdoor or stray mother dogs sometimes scatter their babies to avoid predation. If the puppies are fed well, are in a safe place, and fall asleep after crying for a short while, the mother is probably around. It is best to monitor a nest for a couple of hours.

CANINE DISTEMPER IN DOGS
Canine distemper is a contagious and serious viral illness with no known cure. Canine distemper belongs to the Morbillivirus class of viruses, and is a relative of the measles virus, which affects humans, the Rinderpest virus that affects cattle, and the Phocine virus that causes seal distemper. All are members of the Paramyxoviridae family. Young, unvaccinated puppies and non-immunized older dogs tend to be more susceptible to the disease.
