Myths on Cats
1. Black cats are unlucky
Black cats have been the subject of myth and folklore for centuries. Some Chinese believe black cats to be bringers of poverty. Sadly, unwanted and abandoned black cats are notoriously difficult to rehome thanks to superstition and myth so it seems they are the unlucky ones. The Management of One Jaya Shopping Mall (at Jalan Song) is having a Fun Cat Day on this Sunday, 28th May 2017. There shall be a Kid's Colouring Contest during the event.

May 16, 2017, Kuching - SSPCA committee members met with YB Datuk Sim Kui Hian, Minister of Local Government and Housing, to discuss in getting a government house to start a low cost spay-neuter program for low income groups and registered animal rescuers.
Other items discussed were the first official pilot Capture Neuter Vaccinate and Return (CNVR) program with MBKS and the adaptation of the Animal Welfare Bill 2015 for Sarawak.

Occasionally, you will see the shelter staff and volunteers camp out front, hoping to change your mind on dumping your pet. Some probably in tears.
Do people who drop their pets off at shelter really know what they are doing? If they knew just what happens to dogs after their owners walk out the door, shelter might be a lot more empty.
If you can no longer keep your pet and want to find him a good home, dumping him at a shelter is NOT your best option.
