12th Sep 2018, by SPCA Sarawak

The SSPCA would like to inform the public that we are currently working with the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) to implement the targeted removal of free-roaming dogs. Some netizens have referred to this programme as the ‘culling’ of free-roaming dogs. We would like to inform the public that only dogs with unknown status are removed. Our work is getting tougher as each day people are throwing animals over our fence. Never a day, our shelter staff can rest and do our their jobs peecefully. Everyday before they go to shelter, they pray that everything is smooth, but their prayers are never answered, because we still have 'illiterate' society that happily dumping their pets, be it near our animal shelter or streets. Some people surrender animals because they think it’s the only possible solution, but it is NOT a solution. M...

11th Sep 2018, by SPCA Sarawak

As the town councils in Kuching are culling animals from the streets, the volunteers from SOS Kuching and SSPCA have been working hard by going around to remind neighbours to keep their pets within their compounds. One incident took us offguard from one of the residents in Tabuan area. Our volunteers asked if the poor dog resting outside was his. He claimed the dog and yet refused to let him into his compound. 'Liak! Tan MBKS lai liak yi! Lao liao, bor yong liao' the owner told our volunteers...

Morocco Has Been Dealing With Rabies Since Early 1..
1st Sep 2018, by SPCA Sarawak

Their own report suggested Responsible Pet Ownership and Public Awareness as one of the most effective solutions, not short-sighted mass ...

SSPCA Against Culling Of Stray Dogs
31st Aug 2018, by SPCA Sarawak

While culling may become necessary, there must be a broad acceptance of the fact that culling by itself would not solve the problem, said a statement issued by SSPCA yesterday. “Much of the problem of stray dogs stems from irresponsible...
