KUCHING, Oct 5: Sarawak today imposed an immediate ban on all pet dogs and cats from outside the state that do not have proper documentation from the state Veterinary Service Department or the state Veterinary Authority Import Permit.

80 per cent free roaming dogs not stray, says SSPCA
KOTA SAMARAHAN: Sarawak Society for Prevention of Cruelty Against Animal (SSPCA) believes that up to 80 per cent of the free roaming dogs in Kuching City are not stray.
“SSPCA conducted a survey in the DBKU and MKBS areas in 2013, and it was found that there are few true strays,” its president Datin Dona Drury Wee said yesterday.

KUCHING: Sarawak Society for Prevention of Cruelty Against Animal (SSPCA) is appealing to the public for donations to help a temple to vaccinate and neuter 34 of their rescued dogs.

We visited a temple last week around 7th
Mile vicinity. The Comittee members seek our help to sterilise and vaccinate their dogs, which were taken care by them all this while. (We are not able to disclose the name and exaact location).
Most of the dogs were abandoned on the streets, and the Master had brought them into the temple, and raised them up. All the animals residing at the temple are healthy and well fed. DVS team was there to help to help vaccinating all 52 dogs against rabies.

It is World Rabies Day today. Come and participate our Rabies Awareness Campaign together with Sarawak Veterinary Association at Emart @MJC today until Sunday from 10am til 10pm.
Our International Volunteers from AIESEC will be there to guide you through on how to handle the situation if bitten. Educational games for the young and mature. Do some simple survey questions and get yourself some goodies.

Road users said the dog, a female mongrel, was left under the the 3months ago. And it waited at the same spot, day and night, under hot sun and in the pouring rain, for its owner to return.
