There are some items which we use in large quantities on a regular basis and these are :- 1. Disinfectants like bleach, eg. Clorox, Depex, etc.,2. Dishwashing liquid to clean the food / water bowls,3. Petfood, both canned and dry are always welcome4. RICE!!! We use about 15kg each day so will go through 100+ kg every week.5. Due to an increased grant from the town councils, we can afford to waive the adoption fees for adult dogs and cats until the 15th of April and we'd also like to help those who have the heart but not the funds to own a pet so do spread the news that there will be NO adoption fees charged for adult (local) dogs and cats until the 15th of April.

Just for your info, we have made a visit to the address but could not find the said dog you mentioned in your post @ JPN Building and the gardener claimed that he/she died last Thursday.

We'll always be in need of the following items and would greatly appreciate donations on a regular basis :-
1. Bleach (for disinfecting cages, water / food bowls, floors, etc.) and detergent (for daily washing of water / food bowls)
2. Rice (to add bulk to the 20kg of chicken parts we use daily)
3. Petfood (both dry and canned) (rice alone is not enough especially for sick, wounded, nursing mothers or young animals)
4. Toilet paper and cotton wool to clean eye and nose discharges

We get calls daily asking for permission (and sometimes even forcibly) to bring in strays to the shelter so that they won't get abused, starve or knocked down by cars. What people do not know is that :-1. The chances of an animal being adopted is VERY low. Cute puppies stand the highest chance of being adopted BUT they also stand a great chance of being abandoned when they've outgrown their cuteness which is usually when they're 5 to 6 months onwards.2. We have one staff leaving us in the middle of December to take care of his newborn child so we took on Lambie but he's not very good at his work so we're looking for volunteers or even short term fulltime staff. Look for Richard at the shelter or contact him at richard@sspca.com.my.
