Many people send off their pets to the town councils knowing full well that they might be killed off but as long as the animals are not killed in front of them or they didn't kill the animals themselves, they're kind and caring animal lovers. A job is only considered completed and the reward deserved when it's carried out from start till end. A cat hoarder called in the morning claiming to be an animal lover but wanted to hand over 50+ cats to the shelter. Got rude when asked why did she start hoarding in the first place and did not neuter them. It was obvious she considered her duties to the cats over when I mentioned that the shelter is full of cats which desperately need homes and may have to reduce the numbers by euthanasia.

What To Do When Bringing Animals For Vaccinations / Treatment

We had quite a few occasions when owners came from far away to the shelter to have their animals vaccinated or neutered and when asked about their pets' appetite and faeces conditon, lied that their pets were eating well and faeces were normal, ie. solid and slightly moist. Items We'll ALWAYS Be In Need Of

There are some items which we use in large quantities on a regular basis and these are :- 1. Disinfectants like bleach, eg. Clorox, Depex, etc.,2. Dishwashing liquid to clean the food / water bowls,3. Petfood, both canned and dry are always welcome4. RICE!!! We use about 15kg each day so will go through 100+ kg every week.5. Garbage bags We hope everyone can donate generously especially with the rice and petfood because we're using more food nowadays so that our animals can be stronger an...

Due to an increased grant from the town councils, we can afford to waive the adoption fees for adult dogs and cats until the 15th of April and we'd also like to help those who have the heart but not the funds to own a pet so do spread the news that there will be NO adoption fees charged for adult (local) dogs and cats until the 15th of April.
