S.I Home Shelter's rescue trip last weekend to flood affected areas around West M'sia. Their next rescue trip will be leaving KL on 2 Jan 2015. To volunteer or donate, check out their Facebook page for more info.
Items needed for their rescue: Pet food (canned/kibbles), cages, towels, collars & leashes, tarpaulin & rope (to create shelter), disinfectants, disposable gloves, supplements & medical supplies. You can drop off at SPCA Selangor, Malaysia or PAWS Animal Welfare Society, Petaling Jaya ...

Four-Legged Flood Victims Not Forgotten

As in all cases of natural disasters, animals big and small are usually the forgotten victims. Animal aid groups such as S.I. Home Shelter and The Kiko Food Bank from West M'sia have distributed food and rescued stranded four-legged friends on a round trip covering flood affected areas in Pahang, Terengganu & Kelantan. HEARTWORMS are parasites that live in your dog's and cat's heart and cause heart failure by obstructing vessels of the heart, lung or brain. They are transmitted by mosquitoes, which makes our country a high risk as mosquitoes are present all year round in Malaysia.
PROTECT YOUR PET FROM HEARTWORM; by preventative medication eg. monthly heartworm chewables and reducing your pet's exposure to mosquitoes. Consult your local veterinarian for more information on heartworm! :)
