Why?
- The survivors (strays, in this case) will move on to a new territory once they feel threatened after witnessing their own species being killed brutally by dog catchers. By stepping into a new territory, they may engage in dog fights. And things will turn even more ugly if one of these dogs are rabies carrier. So, according to the news yesterday, YB Phee Boon Poh had acknowledged that culling will stop and focus only around epidemic areas. However, we receive tip-off from various source that culling has been carried out at Jelutong, Perak Road and Tanjung Bungah today. Since when these areas have been declared as epidemic areas?
Stop the culling now and do not mislead the Public!

With the recent rabies outbreak, we understand that this is a hard period for everyone, especially the Independent Rescuers who have spent so much of love, time and money for these strays and now our Government has decided to issue an order to have them wipe out.

2 Rabies Cases Prompts Mass Dog Cull

Lets hear out what do u guys think about massive culling for strays regarding the rabies outbreak in northern region currently.
Is the culling necessary and the only way to curb the outbreak?
Is the method being use is the only fastest and safest way to cull this strays?
Other than culling and using barbaric method to cull the strays, is there any better solution?

Due To Rabies Outbreak Currently In Penang Case Re..

Due to rabies outbreak currently in Penang (case reported in Kepala Batas and Kuala Sg Pinang), council will do massive culling on stray animals, including dogs and cats to prevent this outbreak.
Please keep all your pets indoors. For feeders, please alert on the animals behavior. Dont get bitten or scratch. And please talk to your vet regarding rabies vaccination for your pets.
Council will actively catch and cull the strays. So please open your home for strays and adopt as many as we can. ...
