New Project: Spaying Actiong Plan (1DAY 1SPAY)

MDDB Penang will be working alongside with Profits4Paws led by April Sham and also other Independent Rescuers on the new project "Spaying Action Plan - 1DAY 1SPAY" in conjunction with the introduction of TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) in the State of Penang. This project mainly targeted strays from the streets with the aim to help cope/reduce the population of strays in the most humane way. Killing is NOT the solution. Sterilization IS. MDDB PENANG will be holding our 1st Adoption Drive on August 6th, at Juru Auto-City. The event from 6.00pm to 12.00am will be held in front of Shop In d' Park. The Adoption Drive will be divided into 4 sections:-1. Adoption - displaying rescued puppies for adoption2. Back in the month of May 2011, we have successfully removed Mimi and another 2 young puppies from the hill-slope heading towards Batu Ferringhi, Penang. They were seen loitering and playing by the side of the road risking being run over by cars. Kuda's Journey Of Recovery

Kuda was previously rescued from the streets after he was seriously wounded from a dog fight with a gang of strays. He suffered further injuries when he escaped from his rescuers' home by jumping off from a 2nd floor building and went missing for 2 days. When at last, his rescuers managed to locate him, he was in the worst of shape. A Case In Sungai Petani Reported By Devi Raj

It was earlier reported to us by Devi Raj from Sungai Petani, Kedah that one of her neighbors had intentionally chained their dog on a very short leash causing difficulty for the dog to lie down or even move around. Our rescuers went ahead for a house visit tonight and managed to locate the house and convinced the owner to leash the dog on a longer chain instead. Updates On Kuda

As per scheduled, Kuda is due to be sent down to Gasing Veterinary Hospital (located at Selangor) today for further treatment and surgery. Our rescuers, Chuah and Fen Ying departed for the journey early this morning.Some photos and a video taken of Kuda courtesy of Fen Ying during the 3.5 hours journey:-Kuda had car sick during the long journey and threw up inside the car.
