What is Heartworm disease?
A disease that will result in severe lung infection, heart failure, other organ damage, and DEATH in pets! (Affects mainly dogs, cats, and ferrets)
What causes Heartworm disease?
Dirofilaria immitis (parasitic worm).
All it takes is one mosquito bite (that is a carrier of Heartworm disease) for your dog to be infected.
Once bitten, your dog can take up to 6/7 months to show symptoms of:
- fatigue
- weight loss
- cough
- exercise intolerance
- or even DEATH

On last Saturday , Xydra , her husband, Senon & friends were here . They brought their donation items for our fur kids & also food for workers.
Not only that, they also helped us to complete PFS's one day task : cleaning floor, feeding & drinking trays and feeding PFS fur kids. 🐕🐕🐕
Before leaving the shelter, Xydra even passed her parent's donation in cheque.
Really a huge thank you to Xydra's family and friends. 💞💞

Update on Milo~~
Milo, an adopted dog had attended MKA Agility Trial with her big sister, Pika, the Rottweiler, who won the trophy in June 2019.
Now , the naughty Milo’s journey to competition has officially started . Her pawsmum, Wan Chieh, said finger-crossed that she can manage to pass her exam...🙏🙏🙏

Rahmat Lim & Partners organised a charity art auction in conjunction with the annual Allen & Gledhill LLP Partners’ Retreat. Second Chance Animal Society is pleased to be selected as one of the beneficiaries to receive the charity proceeds, which is to be distributed in tranches. We have received the first tranche of the donation amounting to RM6,400. Thank you, on behalf of our 500 rescued animals.
