Jilly was a stray female dog rescued from dog catchers as she is very very friendly. She is very pretty 1+ girl and has reached full size but is slightly smaller than the average medium sized dogs. A confirmed play buddy and loyal companion, Jilly is always so happy to see you and will make you laugh and love you for the rest of her life! She is always smiling, loves belly rubs and loves to hug and kiss you. She’s a bundle of sunshine and such a mood lifter that you will never be sad with her around.

A natural extrovert, she will make a good playmate for a human and/or with other dogs as she is quite socialised.

She needs to be kept indoors as her personality will shine best when indoors with her humans. She can be trained and plays well with other dogs, and can be adopted as a solo pet or with existing dogs.

Jilly is:
1. Disease-free (negative for parvo and distemper)
2. Dewormed
3. Deflead
4. Vaccinated
5. Spayed

We are looking for a forever loving home for Jilly who can provide her the following:
1. Live in landed property or dog-friendly apartments/condos.
2. Allow her access to both indoors and outdoors but keep her indoors to sleep.
3. Free roaming and not caged
4. Feeds her a balanced and nutritious diet as per her breed
5. Gives her regular annual vaccinations, flea and heartworm medications, and regular checkups at the vet
6. Willing to provide regular updates on her growth and progress

Give this energetic ball of happiness and natural extrovert a chance and she will be your sunshine bug everyday!

Potential adopters will be evaluated for suitability, and should be agreeable to be interviewed. Please contact me if you are interested.

Hi Dr Mai, can Jilly get along with cats?

Hi Karyn, thanks for reaching out. I think so. She’s not aggressive at all(just super playful). I think she can get along with cats but I haven’t let her upstairs where my cats are to say for sure. But from her own personality and watching her when she does sneak up the stairs is that she does not bark or growl or get hostile when she sees them from the grille. And when she was living on the streets she wasn’t chasing any of the cats nearby.

I think she can get along with cats.

We can try it out as well as even if she does, it still depends on the cat with the dog. Some cats they may like and some not.

Are you interested in Jilly?

Ya, interested. She’s so sweet. I have 3 cats. 1 of my cats would love a playmate like her. The other 2 will probably leave her alone or fight for space on the couch with her when I’m on the couch. They can be kinda clingy.
But I’m only moving to landed place in Sept. For now I’m just exploring because I’m overly excited to have a dog back. 🤣 If anyone wants Jilly before Sept, please don’t wait for me. Thanks for responding so quickly!

hi Karynn, how nice! I think we can explore this. she is really a good dog and desperately wants to give affection andis grateful for affection back. I really dont think she will be a problem with cats but we should explore it. Maybe we can start with a meet and greet?

Im in no hurry to adopt her out so if there is a fit between the two of you, it's no problem to wait till september.

I have an interest form for all potential adopters to fill out to give me some idea what they expect and what to expect from them. These rescues are really close to me and I really want to give them the best home ever. Would you be ok to fill it out for me?

We can do this very slowly as you are exploring...:-)

BTW, the adoption process for my rescues usually start with the interest form, followed by an interview/chat, then a meet and greet, then a home trial, then adoption. I know it may sound long and tedious but i think it's fairer for both dog and adopter...no strings attached but both get a chance to know each other and see if there is a fit, rather than to adopt right away and then end up giving the dog back because it didnt work out. it's a bit traumatic for the dog ....

Hi Dr Mai, sure sure. I totally understand. I think it is not about the human picking the dog like a product but it is a 2 way mutual relationship and chemistry, so the dog needs to pick me also. So I am fine to go through the whole process. Even if I don't end up adopting Jilly... I'd have made new dog and human friends also. :D To be honest I am also exploring other doggos, I think important to find one that will have that 2-way chemistry
Will fill your form now! Thanks!!!

I've filled the form. A few questions I couldn't answer properly because the form only accepts a number. So I tried to type it into other fields where it accepts text. Also, my house picture is horrible ya, is under reno now.

hi Karynn, thanks so much. yes, i totally understand your exploration process also. and i think you and i have the same values when it comes to pet adoption! :-D (yeah i have people calling me all kinds of names for the adoption process that i have also. but ive found that genuine adopters understand that thisprocess is for the sake of the dog, and not to give people a hard time. :-)
