Hazel (Local Mixbreed Dog, Female)
- Medical diagnosis: Pyometra (pus filled and infected uterus)

I rescued her and her 5 puppies from a roadside in Ampang Jaya at approximately 8-9pm. Her puppies were approximately 2weeks old. I had her with me for a week, until I found a fosterer (Jessie) who agreed to keep her until she and the puppies were big enough to be neutered and vaccinated and rehomed.

I also gave her Panoramis as she had lots of ticks and fleas. All was good until she fell ill suddenly, and refused to eat, became weak, had a temperature and lethargic.

This worried Jessie so she brought Hazel to the vet and she was diagnosed with Pyometra and was kept overnight (hospitalised) for IV fluids and antibiotics on 17/7/21. She was then discharged on medication (antibiotics) and advised for removal of uterus. She was already scheduled for spaying hence removal of uterus at Star Pets Animal Clinic in SPCA Ampang on 22/7/21 which she did undergo surgery as planned. So she is fully healed now.
