Our teammate first met Mikey in June 2019, when she was helping someone else trap a cat. Mikey decided our teammate was his ticket out, and he actually walked about a 10 minute distance and plopped himself down at my teammate's condo. She eventually managed to TNR (trap-neuter-return) him, and continued to feed him ever since.
We brought him indoors when he started limping on his left foreleg. X-ray didn’t show anything abnormal though, so it was suspected to be a sprain. He responded well to anti-inflammatories and he’s no longer limping. He's defleaed, dewormed, fully vaccinated, neutered, and also tested negative for both FIV/FeLV.
Mikey is a BIG boy, at 5.4kg of glorious floof. Sometimes he can get a bit overstimulated and take a swipe (without claws), but someone who can read his body language would be best. But to people he trusts, he's very chatty and also loves to be held like a baby!
The ideal home for Mikey would be where he can be a solo boy, or other cats are okay too, as long as the integration can happen slowly and properly. It would be important that his new human can be in tune with his body language, but we expect that this would improve once he starts trusting his human.
Note: Mikey was adopted previously but returned due to no fault of his but due to lack of commitment from his previous adopter. Please consider that cats can live 15-20 years and that this is a long-term commitment before making the decision to adopt a cat.
If you're interested in Mikey, please WHATSAPP us on the number provided. We are very responsive on WhatsApp, SMS, e-mail, Facebook and Instagram but we won't be seeing comments left here.
We do have a short application process. We insist that all cats adopted from us be indoor cats and spayed/neutered when old enough. If you would like to learn more about our work, please check us out on Instagram: @ allergic rescuers kl or on Facebook: Allergic Rescuers KL. Thank you for considering adoption!
