My cage belonged to my chinchilla. I know the current set up is not suitable for Guinea pig. The platform will be removed n lowered down to suit the GP

Yes that cage will not be suitable for guinea pigs even if the platforms are removed. So you will definitely need to buy a new cage that measures at least 70cm X 105cm for this pair. If you are willing to learn more about basic guinea pig care and see if it still meets your expectation, I am willing to discuss more with you to see if guinea pigs are a good fit. jay_L   Nov 19th 2020 at 12:22AM Hi. Unfortunately, people who do not receive a response within 48 hours via email did not pass the initial screening. Some of the common reasons may be because the cage enclosure is below the minimum size requirement, have an unsuitable hay rack, there's no guinea pig savvy vet in the area that they live in (not all vets can treat guinea pigs), wrong expectation of time commitment needed daily for the guinea pig, use wrong type of beddings (some bedding releases phenols which are dangerous for guinea pigs as they have sensitive respiratory system), wrong knowledge of diet... I.e. type of hay, type of veggie, wrong pellet brand. Do not know how to bond guinea pigs... No proper plan on where to board them if the entire family.. spouse goes on holiday... No proper boarding places, etc. We strongly recommend that all potential adopters to read up and prepare the basic essentials needed before adopting. We expect no less than people treating these guinea pigs just as they would treat their own children. Thank you very much for taking the time to fill the form. We always welcome people to try again after brushing up on knowledge on how to provide adequate care for guinea pigs.
