Iguana Awareness Day. Shangria, Once Kept As An Il..
Shangria, once kept as an illegal pet, stands magnificently as she gets weighed by our animal caregivers.
These pre-historic looking herbivores, although non-native to Singapore, are found in some of Singapore’s green spaces, often illegally released by their owners.
In some countries, released pet green iguanas are considered pests whose population is managed by removal and culling because of damage to gardens.
Please say no to the illegal wildlife trade!
