First Two Are Rescued!

Here’s a photo taken just moments after the first pair of cats was rescued from a very disturbing Serbian home where they were tied up year-round by shoelaces and attached to a bed. Yes, the cats are afraid after the trauma they’ve endured, but soon they will realize they are safe. They are getting plenty of hiding spots in their foster care environment so they can begin to unwind.

“I don’t speak Serbian but I understand it a little and the women literally said that they are willing to give up these two cats because they don’t like them so much,” rescue Miska Oksanen said this morning.

We continue to work on securing the release of the other six cats, one way or another. Today this first pair will receive their own beds, good food and a comfortable place to recover.
