Recently so many of you made donations to help buy food for the hundreds of dogs at the Bark Ark in Bosnia. We thought you might enjoy this adoption story of one of the dogs who stayed there for a while before finding his forever family.

“Meet Hul,” Sandra Jensen of Animal Welfare Bosnia said. “This elderly German Shepherd was found a couple of months ago sleeping beside an abandoned Croatian car with a broken window. The owner of the dog had a mental illness and was wandering the streets in a bathrobe. Hul was taken into the Bark Ark shelter and then two wonderful people from Germany, Lea and Klaus, decided that this boy should become a new addition to their pack. As you can see, he’s much, much happier! He is Klaus’s shadow, follows him everywhere – preferably onto the sofa!”
