Gluetraps Suck. Hot Days - We Sweat A Lot And We C..

Hot days – we sweat a lot and we cannot wait to change from a sticky shirt.
Here is a #Sparrowhawk someone alerted us to, found with glue from glue traps. Many rounds of cleaning, feeding, captive care and rehabilitation is what this animal is going to go through, with hopes that he/she will still be able to fly and hunt.
We will continue to raise #awareness on the #cruelty behind use of glue traps, whether a rodent or a mynah or a protected raptor gets stuck on it. Every week, we rescue at least 2-3 glued birds such as #mynahs, #pigeons or spotted doves.
We cannot imagine the #fear and #stress these animals go through from being caught on the glue, trying to free themselves and even if rescued – the stress from handling, transport and captive care.
All because, we couldn’t address the root cause of the issue – food waste management and resulting rodent problems. We all know the solution – to spend resources to ensure that food waste is not easily accessible to rats -whether it is installing metal bins, metal cabinets or using metal containers. But most of us want quick fix low cost options which appear to be a solution. We appeal to those having rodent issues to look into the root cause and address it.
