🐾 #MeetTheTeam: Affy Azlizan Senin or fondly known as Lee, a senior programme assistant in Sarawak. 🐾

If there’s one story Lee loves to tell, it’s his unforgettable encounter with a pair of sun bears. After a tiring morning of hiking and installing camera traps in Ulu Baleh, Lee was enjoying his lunch with his colleague Philovenny Pengiran, when the sun bears moved towards them from behind.

Taken by surprise, they tossed their food in the air and ran as fast as they could. The sun bears, about the size of local dogs, also gave them a good chase. “Philo and I ran as fast as we could, climbed up a tree and tried to hide from the sun bears. Then it occurred to us, sun bears could climb trees too but fortunately, the bears didn’t proceed to chase after us,” he recalls with a laugh. 🌳🐻
