The countdown to our annual terrapin release has officially started! 🐢

The terrapin release is a culmination of months of hard work and dedication by our Terrapin Guardians. They’ve worked tirelessly from mid-January through mid-March to secure as many terrapin eggs as possible from poachers. This year, we’ve collected more than 1,500 terrapin eggs! In fact, it’s the highest in our 13-year record! 🎉

Of these eggs, close to 1,200 terrapin hatchlings had successfully hatched, and they’re currently being taken care of by Pakcik Dollah.

We are thrilled to have Dato’ Abdul Kadir bin Abu Hashim, Director General of Jabatan PERHILITAN Semenanjung Malaysia officiate our terrapin release! We will release approximately 500 river terrapins into the Kemaman River on Saturday, 5th October 2024 and we’d love for you to join us! We will have more updates for you in the next few weeks, so please stay tuned 👍🏻
