He’s nearly blind and wandering in the road. His name is Dexter. He has very few teeth left. But today he has hope. We’ve just taken Dexter from the street and he’s at the vet at this moment.

Dexter’s guardian has other dogs so put Dexter outside when the dog developed a skin condition. Dexter has been fed only rice because of his missing teeth. The man said he rubs his dog with motor oil to make his fur grow back. It’s a matter of ignorance, not contempt. The man just doesn’t know better.

Despite the neglect, Dexter’s human cares. He asked that he not be home when Dexter was taken by rescuers as he was too sad to see him go. We have made it clear that we will attempt to heal Dexter, and that the man can come to visit him as often as he wishes. Its so important to be compassionate to humans while helping animals.

Dexter is an elderly boy and the motor oil that was put all over his skin could possibly cause cancer in the months ahead, but his remaining days on earth can be gentler now. If anyone wishes to help with his veterinary bill, we would be grateful.
