For nearly 20 years, Umi has been an integral part of WWF-Malaysia’s tiger conservation programme. Her work is centred around building long-term partnerships with communities in tiger landscapes, but for her it’s more than a job.

“I’ve worked here for so long with grandparents and parents, and now I see children I’ve known for years growing into adults and actively participating in conservation. They treat me like family and this is something that I can’t put into words.”
