This week in Kuching, sustainably produced Sarawak pepper, grown by the indigenous communities of Ulu Katibas, Song, is among the highlights at the International Spice Exhibition held in conjunction with the 51st Annual Sessions and Meetings of the International Pepper Community.

But that’s not all – the communities from Rumah Dagum and Rumah Peter have been rocking the sustainability game by adopting good agricultural practices to grow pepper. Their mission? To produce pesticide-free and organic pepper without clearing more forest and polluting the environment.

This remarkable initiative, led by the indigenous communities of Ulu Katibas, is a collaborative effort with the Malaysian Pepper Board and WWF-Malaysia.
