Nightmare After Nightmare. On Of Our Shelter Dogs ..

Nightmare after nightmare. On of our shelter dogs Max had a mass near the nose and this is what we hot from the vet:
“After a careful review of the scan, unfortunately there is actually bone involvement caused by the mass as you can see the bone area showed by the area there is darker compared to the other side.
This area is irregular too at the bone surface there
So we are worried that is indicative of bone involvement, and removal of the mass is quite complicated.Biopsy can be done to check what kind of cancer that is and whether the cancer is responsive to chemotherapy or not. But most of the time, cancer of this appearance and location may not be responsive to chemotherapy, and if that is the case, biopsy may cause the mass to grow even faster since we disturb the mass. And if this was to be expected, maybe it is safer if you are able to find a surgeon who could stand by for this possibility before doing the biopsy. But if there is no surgeon who is able to do perform the surgery, then we can proceed with the biopsy anyway and see what cancer that is and what chemotherapy can be attempted to control the mass or slow down its progression.”
