We Have More This Time, We Have The Cute Asian Lea..

We have more! This time, we have the cute Asian Leaf Turtle (Cyclemys dentata). The shape of their carapace is quite flat and leaf-like 🍂, so they blend into the background easily. Plus, they are quite shy! 😳

This terrapin inhabits clear streams and small rivers in the lowlands and hills. Although they spend a lot of time in the water, they couldn’t swim very well. So they walk on the bottom of the rivers and streams, hunting for food furing the day and coming to the land to sleep.

They can be found in Southeast Asia such as Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.

They are considered omnivores with their diet including a range of animal and plant matter. Their favourite foods are fruits, plants, prawns, fish, crabs, insects, snails and worms. Did you know that carrion is a really yummy snack (for them)? 🤤

Spread this info to your close friends!
