Wildlife Rescue Efforts Update. 2023 Had A Rough S..

WILDLIFE RESCUE EFFORTS: UPDATE

2023 had a rough start, where our #WildlifeRescue team functioned with very little manpower. Over the past few years, we grew from strength to strength, for example – we increased our capacity to rehabilitate and treat animals and we garnered new equipment and techniques to rescue wildlife from a variety of situations. Whether sick, injured, orphaned or displaced wildlife, we were rescuing and caring for these wildlife in distress, to the maximum possible extent.

However, in 2023 we faced challenges in reforming the team, without sufficient rescue officers and a wildlife vet. Over the past year, some of our most amazing and experienced #volunteers also left the country, further crippling us.

With stretched manpower, we could no longer reach out to as many wild animals as we could or rescue injured wildlife without a #WildlifeVet.

All this meant that we had to streamline and focus on what we could. We did not give up. We continue to help wildlife caught in conflict (like reptiles) or with minor injuries; we continued carrying our rehabilitation of orphaned baby wildlife from pigeon nestlings, civets to squirrels.

This is only temporary and we are working hard to rebuild the team, as the current staff strength holds the fort. We would like to thank many understanding callers, and seek understanding from the rest who may not be fully aware of our situation. Rest assured, we are focusing on building up our team again and that we will soon be able to return to our optimal operations.

Meanwhile, we need all the support we can get, for our upcoming gala dinner. Details at: http://www.giving.sg/acres/freetobewild
