SIX #POACHING CASES IN ONE MONTH
Hougang St 61, Jalan Jelita, Yishun St 51, Sunrise Terrace, Telok Blangah road and Bedok Reservoir view. From bulbuls & junglefowl to magpie robins and hanging parrots. You simply cannot catch a trend here, from condo to landed property to construction site to HDB estate.
The only big consolation here is – the fantastic public who will observe, document and blow the whistle, or even take action by simply removing an abandoned live illegal trap in a public area. Many cases may result in dead end, as a trap gets abandoned once noticed by someone – making it difficult to pursue it further on identifying who set up the trap in the first place! So, please continue to make it difficult to illegally poach wild birds in Singapore.
You know who you are – when we say thank you for being the eyes and ears for these wild animals.
If you witness illegal poaching activities, please report to the enforcement agency (NParks) 1800-476 1600 or report to our 24-hour wildlife crime & rescue hotline 97837782. Please remember to take photos/videos of any individual/s, vehicle plate number/s and the actual trap/s.
