SHOUT OUT TO ALL THE “Good Guys”

In animal welfare, the ‘good guys’ are often tough-as-nails women who refuse to back down. Tsvetelina Vrancheva in Bulgaria is one of them. She’s out there every day, no matter the weather, helping the animals who have no home of their own. She feeds strays and runs a small shelter all by herself. There is no cavalry to come when the wind is blowing hard or the toes inside her boots are too cold to keep going. Rescuers like her are often threatened and harassed by others in the community who don’t understand them. People who find it easier to silence animals with poison and bullets than to get down on their knees and offer food and affection.
