SALE OF POULTRY AT LICENSED PET SHOP
The Animal Crime Investigation unit (ACIU) received feedback from a member of the public on the sale of poultry at a pet shop along Serangoon North. The shop had quails, chicks and fancy chicken for sale. Based on the Pet Shop License Condition, poultry are not allowed to be sold.
Thanks to NParks for acting on the matter promptly. The case is currently under investigation.
The Pet Shop License condition is available on NPark’s website: https://www.nparks.gov.sg/avs/animals/animal-related-businesses/pet-shops/licensing-conditions.
Members of the public are capable of monitoring pet shops and farms in Singapore by familiarising the conditions laid out by NParks.
