ACRES #WILDLIFE DIARIES EP 3: HOOKED ASIATIC SOFTSHELL TURTLE

From #otters and macaques to monitor lizards and even birds, we have come across countless animals who have become entangled or injured by abandoned fish hooks and lines. Fortunately for this uncommon Asiatic softshell turtle, we were able to help her and release her back to the wild. This #vulnerable species is heavily exploited for the meat trade (#turtlesoup) and wild-caught turtles are imported into Singapore legally for the soup/meat.

Our team’s work doesn’t stop with rescue but also intensive rehabilitation efforts to ensure the best possible outcome for them.
