Where Do We Go Now?. Do We Wait Till He Moves Or D..

Do we wait till he moves or do we keep going?
It’s a common response that people might just stay still and freeze when they see an adult macaque on their footpath in an open area. However, the best thing you can do is to walk on as per normal and make your presence known (but not in an aggressive manner). Remember not to stare down or point any objects towards them.
In this case, a monkey who is not conditioned to human feeding, will step aside.
If you come across a family of macaques with babies, refrain from walking in between them. Edge forward steadily and walk around the troop. To ensure that your movements are not mistaken as threats, avoid staring, pointing at them or waving any objects towards them.
This young adult monkey here is waiting for food to be thrown down by well-intentioned but unaware residents doing the wrong thing. Feeding wild animals alters their behaviour and conditions them to associate humans with food. This will cause them to return to the area to get access to easy food sources; something which we should avoid.
