PARTIALLY PARAYLYZED SWEETHEART NEEDS A REAL HOME
Rescuer Sejla Kurpalo Explains Below:
_____________________________
“Noah was rescued almost 2 years ago, in Bosnia, when he was hit by a car and left all alone on the street by days. That’s the main reason why the vets couln’t do anything. The vets said that the best solution was to put him down, but I decided to take him under my wings. We went to Belgrade to visit a specialist for spine just to be sure he will be ok. The specialist said it’s too late for an operation. He adviced some exercises, which I did every single day for months. There was a little bit of improving, Noah could stand for a few seconds, but unfortunately he has grown so fast, and his legs couldn’t hold his body weight.
But a broken spine never stopps him from enjoying life. Noah is a very happy and friendly boy. He weights now about 23 kilos. Height 61cm. It took some time to get him his rolli (wheelchair), and as soon as we got it and put him on his rolli, it was really a huge miracle, just like he was born with it.
Noah is very active also without his rolli. He drags his body without any problems and he is very fast. There is almost no difference when he plays with the other dogs. He loves to sleep on sofa and he is crazy about pillows and blankets. He will “tell” you every time when he wants to sleep on sofa, with his big smile going in circles around sofa. He is fine with a dog bed too. Crazy about toys, oh he loooves them! Noah loves cuddles very very much.
He also loves all kind of vegetables and fruits, and also dog food. Noah is incontinet, but he can toilet by himself sometimes, so I help him by expressing his bladder 4,5x per day, so he could be clean and without any infections. He gets well with diapers, especially when is nap time. Often the question about disabled dogs is: “Does he have any wounds on his body?” No. He’s never had any wounds on legs, stomach or anywhere. He lives in apartment and all the floors are covered with soft carpets. He is also castrated and vaccinated. His passport is ready to go.
Noah is dog and cat friendly boy. He is very kind with small puppies too. He was raised in a big pack of adult dogs, and one cat. He is really a sweetheart who deserves just like all other dogs a nice and warm home, with a lot of love. Maybe it is a little bit more work with a disabled dog, to keep him clean and healthy, but he has so much to give to people. He just love humans attention, and when we are out he is the first one who will run in his rolli to meet them. He is great with children too.
I’m an active animal rescuers who has more than 50 other dogs under my care, and Noah really needs attention. Its also stresful to live in a huge building, when we need to use an elevator etc.. A home with a garden would be perfect for him. I really cant keep him. I foster him, but he doesn’t like to be alone (without humans attention) so I always need to find someone to stay with him, or to leave him to mom or my friends. All the other dogs depend on me, the dogs in the shelters, pensions and also on the street.”
