BAYSHORE REDEMPTION

Meet Tom and Jerry, two radiated tortoises who were found abandoned in a tub at Bayshore condominium by the security guards in September. Once they complete their quarantine period, they will be introduced to the other resident radiated tortoises – Todd, Denise and Radio who currently reside at our sanctuary.

Radiated tortoises, native to Madagascar, are critically endangered due to habitat loss, poaching for their meat and over exploitation of the wildlife pet trade. Until we can find progress in repatriation efforts, our wildlife rescue centre will continue to be the half-way house for these unfortunate victims of the illegal wildlife pet trade.
