RAPE SURVIVOR, CAN SHE HELP OTHER DOGS?
______________________________________
Neighbors in one Pogradeci, Alabania neighborhood recently called rescuers to report that a dog was being beaten and raped. This beautiful dog was living chained outside where witnesses saw the abuse. As soon as she learned of the violence, rescuer Ana Karmelic immediately sent her veterinarian to confiscate the chained dog before she died of the abuse.
For all of us, our first thought is to call the police. And that is done. Yet as Ana explains, “Off course you can ask police for help, but nothing will happen as it is Albania.”
Ana’s rescue project is now caring for more than 60 dogs from similar circumstances including this dog now named Bella. Ana specializes in the rescue of pit bulls in that region where the dogs are frequent victims of violent abuse and dog fighting for “amusement”.
Bella is a survivor today, and we believe she would want to be the poster dog in the fight to help others. We need funds for her veterinary care, food and lodging, but we also hope to honor her by allowing her to lead the mission to save others. She truly is a loving dog with a heart of gold.
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP:
__________________________
In addition to dog food, veterinary bills and boarding of the 60 dogs currently under Ana’s wing, we have MANY, MANY other underdog rescuers who we are trying to help this month and honestly we need a great deal of support to work our magic right now.
Those of you who have been with us for the last decade know that Harmony Fund is a USA-based, international animal rescue charity specializing in throwing a lifeline to underdog animal rescue squads all over the planet. We are supported by an incredible group of individuals who share our vision of helping the small but mighty animal rescue squads who go overlooked for funding from the big charities and who are based in countries where there is no local aid. These are the rescuers who need us most to do good work. We are honored to carry out this mission. Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you are able to make a donation today in any amount, we would be deeply grateful for that act of kindness.
