Every year, millions of farmed animals are sent on horrendous long journeys to be slaughtered for meat in other countries.
Their suffering is the stuff of horror movies. Crammed together in filthy, confined spaces, exposed to the elements, and denied food and water, they may suffer like this for days and even weeks.
Not surprisingly, many die in transit from suffocation, heat stress and dehydration.
