A BIRTHDAY GIFT (IT FORWARD)

As parents, you might be familiar with the amount of material goods that kids receive at birthday parties. Gift-It-Forward was founded last year as a simple and fun way to teach children about social responsibility, and ACRES is a beneficiary.

How it works:

When the birthday celebrant sends out party invitations through this site, they can set up a gift fund that friends and family can contribute to instead of buying gifts. A portion of the fund (50-100%) will go towards a charity of their choice, and the other portion will go towards a gift they hope to get (like a bike, a scooter, or a trip to Lego Land).

ACRES (Animal Concerns Research & Education Society) is a pioneering Singapore-based charity and Institution of Public Character, founded by Singaporeans in 2001 with the aim of promoting animal welfare.
