SEGAR ROAD: POACHING OF WILD PIGS IN SINGAPORE
A tip-off alerted us to the illegal trapping and slaughtering of wild boars at Segar Road forest. Over weeks of close monitoring and working closely with the informants, ACRES ACIU (Animal Crime Investigation Unit) the traps were located and information was provided to the AVA. Joint efforts from Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) and ACRES resulted in the removal of the traps.
Thanks to the AVA for their response, and to the informant for blowing the whistle. If you see any illegal wildlife traps set up, please do call our 24hr wildlife crime and rescue hotline 97837782, or email photos to acrescrime@gmail.com. If we are unable to arrive immediately due to rescue operations, please call the enforcement authorities AVA or the police.
