Last year 2012, SPCA Penang Ambulances had picked up 1142 cats and dogs. 509 cats and dogs were surrendered by owners and another 660 were brought in by members of the public. Two others ( a rabbit and a hedgehog) were found dumped. This makes a total of 2311 animals received. 180 homes were found and this is not enough. It is our fervent hope that year 2013 will see more homes found and less animals being abandoned or given up.
We sincerely hope that pet owners observed the FIVE FREEDOMS as Internationally Declared for Animal Welfare seriously when considering to own a pet. It is a huge responsibility. Thank you. SPCA TEAM
