Madame Wong & My Dog-Sick Syndrome (DSS)

Harlow peeps! It’s been a while since I last blogged about Madame Wong. My bad my bad…. as i hardly ever get the chance (and time) going to the shelter since I have relocated to Singapore.  Being in Singapore is extremely tough for me because I am forever homesick (missing my family) and dog-sick! I am missing not only my Super 8. Yeah! I have 32 paws (8 dos x 4 paws!) back in KL and every dog owner, especially the doggie fanatic should be able to feel the difference of Life with & without dogs. Not having one crazy waggy-tail to welcome home is just so…. W-R-O-N-G. 

And also, I super-duper miss the rescue world, my passionate-to-nealy-crazy rescuer friends, hectic schedules, adoption drives, shelter, blogging about dogs, snapping zillions pictures of dogs and last but not least, my rescued-and-adopted dogs + their oh-so-loving adopters too. Some of the adopters & rescuers have turn out to be my good friends as we just clicked right away when we started the conversation about DOGGIES. I wonder if the my fellows in rescue world miss me not? If they do, I would be extremely happy because I managed to make some difference (even just a little bit of difference) to the rescued dogs + cats & adopted families. I am a firm believer in adopting a rescued animal would not just make a huge difference in the animal’s life, but will also make a huge impact to the shelter, to the strays, to the dog pound, and most importantly, to your family! Having a new pet is equivalent to welcoming a new baby in your life! Just a gentle reminder, since you are making such a big impact to the world if you were to adopt a rescued animal or stray, please consider carefully before you make the decision. Please do not adopt or buy (even worse) a puppy / dog/ cat/ kitten / rabbit / hamster etc on the impulse because we have encountered so many adopted-then-returned pets because of various reason. Welcoming a newborn, just got married, moving from a landed property to a non-landed property, relocation, allergy reaction, cannot handle / take good care of the pets anymore, family’s objection etc… the list is non-exhaustive and I can go on for another 10,000 words. 

Enough of my never-ending rants about my Dog-Sick Syndrome, let’s share some pictures of our Madame Wong (Madam Tough Cookie) shall we? *Thanks to Mrs Lai for emailing the picture of Madame Wong to me and keep me updated about her life in shelter* 

Madam wong is always excited to come out of her cage and goes around the area, Mrs Lai and the helpers always take her out for a walk. During the good days, she is able to walk a few steps all on her own and she is really thrilled and moved around to explore the area and make friends with the dogs. FYI, Madame Wong is a Distemper survivor and the volunteers keep her at the quarantine unit to monitor her health. So no worries, the helpers especially our awesome Aunty Kiew treats her like a queen.
