Heartbreaking

Someone from a shelter called us the other day saying that she had received a distress call from PJ. Apparently an old dog had been abandoned at a five foot way and she was lying there hapless and not daring to move. People were feeding her everyday and someone had brought a towel to cover her almost hairless body. We were told that the dog would be euthanised if taken to the shelter. Our hearts bled when we saw the picture and so we assumed responsibility and directed the dog to our panel vet. Apparently she is a poodle of sorts and is very very old – deaf in both ears, blind in one eye and has a cataract in the other. She also had some skin infection. Going by her age – we think she won’t last beyond a few months and so are planning to give her a few months of comfort and love before she leaves for leaves. We are saddened – where is her human family? Did they ditch her? Did she wander out and got lost? Anyone recognizes old girl? Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better is a canine welfare programme initiated by non-profit organisation Community Development and Integration Initiative (CDII).

MDDB's main activities revolve around rescuing dogs from the local council pounds as well as off the streets. Once they have been rescued, the dogs are vaccinated and neutered before being put up for adoption.
