Purring To Your Office... UberKUCING!
Wednesday, 14th September 2016, will be anything but business as usual, and these #UberKUCING just want to get their paws into your office!
In collaboration PAWS and PetFinder.my, Uber will be delivering cats on demand from the shelter to key office areas in Klang Valley, aimed at raising awareness on pet adoption and animal welfare. All funds raised during this campaign will go to PAWS.
How It Works
- Open your Uber app on 14 Sep 2016, between 11am and 4pm.
- Request “KUCING” option in the app. There is a RM30 "snuggle fee", donated to PAWS.
- Once the kittens arrive, you and your friends will get to enjoy 15 minutes of kitten cuteness! Tip: Make sure to have an enclosed space purrrfect for playtime.
- The best part? All these participating cats are eligible for adoption!

The Uber cabs are based at the following locations: Bangsar, Hartamas, Mont Kiara, Taman Tun, KL Sentral and KL City Center. So, offices nearest to these areas would get the fastest response!
If you’re lucky enough to request kittens to your office, please make sure your boss or building will be cool with the meows and that no one in the area is allergic. Having a dedicated room for kitten playtime is preferred.
It’s just a RM30 “snuggle fee” for the best 15 minutes of your day with all proceeds going to support the great work of the PAWS Malaysia! If you’re smitten for a kitten or looking for a new purr-sonal assistant, just talk to the local PAWS representative assisting with your kitten delivery about adopting.

Demand will be high as many will want to test the kittens’ skills (they are excellent paper shredders), so your patience is appreciated. We’ll do our best to deliver as many kitten cuddles as possible, but availability is limited!

FAQs
Q: Can I donate more than RM30?
A: Definitely! Let an Uber team member know once at the end of the 15 mins and they can adjust the donation amount. You can also use the ‘Split Fare’ option in the app to donate with your friends and colleagues at the end of your visit.
Q: Can I get a receipt for my donation?
A: PAWS Malaysia will be issuing receipts post the event and will be in touch with you via email if you managed to book #UberKUCING via the app, or make sure that your details are noted if the donation was made in person.
Q: Can the kittens play with other animals?
A: We ask that if there are any other animals that they are in another room for the safety of the kittens.
Q: Are the kittens up for adoption?
A: These kitties are PAWS kittens and most will not be available for adoption just yet. If you do want to adopt, just ask the PAWS rep! Adoption info will be left behind after each visit too.
Q: Isn’t this event stressful/dangerous for the kittens?
A: The kittens are being handled by knowledgeable PAWS staff and volunteers who are constantly monitoring their well-being and stress levels. Kittens will be given time for rest and relaxation during the day.
Q: We tried to order a kitten car and weren’t able to get one.
A: Unfortunately we can only make a limited number of deliveries to ensure that kittens are not out for too long of a period of time. We only have a limited number of kittens available from PAWS, but we encourage those who do not receive a delivery to come out and visit the adoptable kittens in person.
